Plane carrying climbers to Mt Everest crashes in Nepal
Telegraph: Plane crashes after taking off from Katmandu airport in Nepal, killing 19 passengers and crew, among them were 7 British tourists on a trekking holiday to the foothills of Mount Everest as well as 5 Chinese and 4 Nepalese passengers.
A spokesman for the airline said the plane crashed within two or three minutes of taking off in clear weather from Kathmandu’s airport, where it was due to fly to Lukla, the main airport for the Everest region, 35 minutes away.
