The family of a young man in Venice says police pinned him to the ground and punched him repeatedly in the face while he was already subdued. Friends and family are planning a protest Monday morning to show support for Ronald Weekley Jr., 20, a student at Xavier College in Venice. His family says he was skateboarding Saturday afternoon in front of his home when Los Angeles police officers detained him and threw him down to the ground. The family provided KTLA with a video of the beating, clearly showing the officers fighting with Weekley as he lay prone on the ground. “There are about three or four officers on top of my son, and the officer comes into view, gets down on the ground and hits him in his face and it’s something that you hear in the tape,” Ron Weekley Sr. told KTLA.” - KTLA
