Denmark tightens sperm donor law after NF1 transmissions

BBC: Denmark is tightening the rules on sperm donation after one donor was found to pass on a rare genetic condition to at least five of 43 babies.

Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) produces tumors that affect the nervous system. It is believed that the affected sperm has been used in 10 countries.

Donors will now only be allowed to donate for 12 inseminations; the new limit will be introduced from Oct. 1.
