A UNHCR tent camp in al-Qaim, Iraq. Syrian refugees have been gradually moved there since mid August from schools in al-Qaim where the Iraqi government had been confining them since late July. As of August 28, over 2,000 refugees were in the camp, and close to 2,000 remained in schools, guarded by the Iraqi police and military and not allowed to leave. August 9, 2012.
